State approves doubling size of Curtis Road Clinic in Champaign
Construction will expand convenient care and relocate specialities
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved Carle Foundation Hospital’s application to add space and services to its clinic on Curtis Road in Champaign.
This will allow Carle to help address demand for both primary and specialty care by consolidating services into the building and adding providers.
More patients are coming to Carle seeking care, and in particular the organization has seen major demand for Convenient Care. That walk-in service will have more space and physicians. In addition, allergy, rheumatology and endocrinology will move to the facility along with cardiac rehab.
“The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board recognized that to accommodate the current and future needs of our patients we are recruiting more physicians to the community and therefore must provide appropriate space for care,” said James C. Leonard, MD, president and chief executive officer, The Carle Foundation.
The addition will more than double the size of the facility. Construction is set to begin in the fall 2015 with project completion by 2017.
